October 2020 meeting planning

Let’s talk about rights statements! Copyright, public domain, creative commons licensing, what does this all mean for your collection access, use, and duplication requests? Or donor negotiations? Archival collections can be a blend of published and unpublished materials with clear copyright periods, orphaned works, and not everything comes in with a deed that covers all eventualities. And how can we be thinking about creative commons licenses when setting up deeds/transfer/gift documents? What is that rightsstatements.org thing anyhow?

Freya Anderson of the State Library has agreed to lead the group this month. Please fill out this poll by end of day on Friday, October 9 to get it scheduled.
