The votes are in and it looks like Thursday, 10/29 from 2-3 pm is our best option. Again, the topic is rights and rights statements: archival collections can be a blend of published and unpublished materials with clear copyright periods, not so clear copyright periods, orphaned works, and not everything comes in with a deed that covers all eventualities. And of course, other types of rights may apply too that don’t have the force of federal or state law or regulation behind them but that we should not ignore, like cultural rights. And how can we be thinking about creative commons licenses when setting up deeds/transfer/gift documents? What is that rightsstatements.org thing anyhow? What does this all mean for your collection access, use, and duplication requests? Or donor negotiations?
Zoom information will be going out in the listserv emails. If you are not on the AKArchivists, AKMuseums, or AKLA listservs, please contact Arlene using the contact link in the menu on the upper right for details.
